Like Manna from Heaven, Part II...

I really don't want to write this now that it's a month old and I've forgotten half of what happened, but now I feel obligated.

For much of the week, I enjoyed sleeping in, knitting and visiting with my family.  This included a trip with my sister and brother-in-law to the Sushi Den, which I adore (they treated, which makes it even better!)  Also, at some point during the week, I was hogtied and made to participate in a 250 mile round trip effort to celebrate my cousin's 40th birthday.  Not that I wasn't happy for my cousin, it was just that I really wasn't looking forward to another road trip after having so recently arrived.  My cousin has, however, some gorgeous mountain views.  This is his land, upon which he intends to build his home:

Here are some gratuitous shots of the kiddos playing around while we were up there:

This last one is a particular favorite, because my niece looks like she's exercising some unnatural power over the golfball...

Later in the week, I met up with some friends for coffee.  Unfortunately, everyone was time-crunched to fit in the visit, so we didn't get much beyond small talk.  I have to say it was sad in the sense that there was so much to catch up on, but so little actually said.

Did I also mention that I was relentless about making my parents watch coverage of the Tour de France?  And that I taught my mom and sister to knit?  And that my dad grilled up some wonderful burgers and dogs on the 4th, before it rained out the fireworks?

But alas, all good things come to an end.  I still had not fully recovered from all the driving, and it rained for fully the first half of the trip home.  Somewhere in the middle of Oklahoma, around hour 12, I found myself without a will to live.  And then folks?  Then I saw the light at the end of the tunnel...

Never let it be said that God doesn't have a sense of humor.  I felt like Homer Simpson. Mmmmm. Doughnuts.

Very nice spot for a house! It resembles a little bit with the landscape in “Lord of the Rings”.

I never thought about it that way, but it does!
