I had to witness yet another Johnny Cash tribute last night. I think I may be the sole person in America who is ready to let the man rest in peace, for goodness sake. Surely, he did not imagine Kid Rock and Norah Jones keeping the fires burning, did he?
Don't get me wrong, I know he had an big impact and even enjoy some of his music. I know he definitely had his fair share of hits. But seriously, the man died 2 years ago. I think it's time to close the chapter on the tributes.
That being said, I do want to see the movie. I like Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon, and I think Cash has an interesting story. I'm just tired of seeing Bono doing Cash in those sunglasses that seem permanently welded to his headed.
No haters, please. A girl just can't listen to the repeating refrain of "Ring of Fire" in her head every day without ending up in Folsom Prison herself.
